1 dead and 3 injured in shootings in Denver
In the city of Denver in the American state of Colorado, a shootout broke out in the Lo Do district at about 4:00 PM local time. Which stands for ‘Lower Downtown’: a neighbourhood with hotels, restaurants and apartment buildings. One person died, three others were injured.
A police spokesman said that four people were shot. One of them died on the spot. Three others were taken to the hospital but are not in danger of life.
The perpetrator could not be caught. “At the moment we do not know if there were one or more gunmen,” said spokesman Doug Schepman. It is as yet unclear whether the perpetrator (s) and victims knew each other. “It is too early to say what happened and why,” he said.
Schepman acknowledged that a double murder had taken place in the neighbourhood on Sunday. But at this moment it is not yet clear whether there is a connection between the two incidents.
