25 confirmed cases of Coronavirus recorded in Nigeria

Three new cases have been confirmed in Nigeria, bringing the counter to 25 confirmed cases of covid-19. The Nigeria center for disease control(NCDC) made the announcement today.

There is a total record of 25 confirmed cases in Nigeria as of 22nd March, and two have been discharged, with no official death, according to the NCDC. Nigeria’s government has brought out measures to stem down the pandemic virus.

On Saturday, the Nasarawa Government confirmed that all the five suspected cases of the lung disease, isolated at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Keffi, tested negative for the virus. The State Commissioner for Health, Ahmed Yahaya, made the disclosure at a press briefing, said the results from a specimen taken from the five suspected cases for the test at the NCDC Abuja, all came back negative.

“The isolation center in DASH has been expanded to 18 rooms; nine each for suspected cases and confirmed cases, if any,” the Commissioner added.

In Kaduna state, 3 residents that recently traveled to the United Kingdom and Egypt are presently in self-isolation and being monitored for Coronavirus, according to the Kaduna state health officials. The information contained in a statement issued by the state Commissioner of Health, Dr. Amina Mohammed Baloni, explained that the affected persons had shown no known symptoms of the disease.

She advised, “All travelers from affected countries should self-isolate themselves for 14 days and report any symptom of cough, fever, or difficulty in breathing to the following numbers: 08025088304, 08032401473, 08035871662 and 08037808191.
