APGA reveals ‘PDP plot’ in Abia to parade fake members as decampees

The All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, in the southern region of Abia State, announced on Sunday that it had unveiled a plan for certain groups of people to make a press broadcast on Monday, while APGA members decide to decamp to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

APGA said in a statement issued by the party’s chairman in Umuahia’s southern local government region, Omerenma Ogbonna, and made available to reporters Sunday night.

The statement quoted the party as saying that the movement is a plan concocted to dissuade and discourage its countless members and supporters in the local government of southern Umuahia who are hungry for change.

The statement advised all APGA supporters not to be discouraged by the people she described as paid agents who subjected Abians to untold hardship.

Some parts of the statement read as follows: “We know that a group of people who are not at APGA and have not aligned with APGA in the southern chapter of Umuahia, plan to make the media shine tomorrow, Monday May 14, 2018, as APGA members decamping to the PDP in the local government of southern Ubakala Umuahia during the state PDP chairman’s visit to Umuahia south.

Parts of the statement reads, “It has been known that some group of persons who have not been in APGA nor aligned themselves with APGA in Umuahia south chapter before, are planning to make the media glow tomorrow, Monday, May 14, 2018 as APGA members decamping to PDP in Ubakala Umuahia south local government during the visit of the State PDP Chairman to Umuahia south.

“All APGA faithfuls should not be discouraged by these paid agents who will parade themselves as APGA members decamping to PDP on Monday at Apumiri Ubakala.

“It is a cooked up plan to dissuade and discourage our teeming APGA members and supporters in Umuahia south local government who are craving for change.

“It is now an undisputable truism that Umuahia south is now the base of concentration because of the blunt refusal of the APGA leader in Umuahia south to join the ruling party in the state after all undue persuasions from many angles.

“It is obvious that more like this in forms of vendetta, calumnies, blasphemies, innuendos and many types of confrontational mechanisms should be expected by the ruling party in Umuahia south before, during and after the 2019 general elections.

“There is hunger in the land caused by the same people who have resorted to gimmicks and games just to tarnish the ideology of APGA and discourage members.”
