Belgian military skydiveteam breaks world record [VIDEO]

The national military team of Belgian parachutists, known as Hayabusa (‘falcon’ in Japanese), today break the world record in the number of free-fall figures at the World Championship in Australia.

The goal is to form as many posed figures as possible in free fall within 35 seconds, while a camera registers the movements of the paratroopers. The team scored 54 out of 62 points, Defense said.

Hayabusa participates in the civil world championship parachuting, which takes place until Saturday, October 13 in Gold Coast in Australia. The team, consisting of the soldiers, David and Andy Grauwels, Dennis Praet, Jeroen Nollet and cameraman Luc Van Britsom, is on a provisional first place, it still sounds.

The Belgian team already has a lot of victories on its palmares. It is once world champion in the civic category and won the world championship ten times by the International Military Sports Council. Their last victory took place in August in Szolnok, Hungary. The team can also score in the indoor competition. That is how the Bedford World Challenge in the United Kingdom also won last year.
