Divock Origi and Liverpool teammates support ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement

Champions League winner, Liverpool, has expressed support for protesters in the United States who have been protesting George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis for police violence for a week.

Red Devil Divock Origi and his teammates got down on one knee around Anfield’s center circle. Defenders Dejan Lovren, Andy Robertson, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold all posted photos on Twitter, showing the Premier League leader’s squad kneeling.

The club took over the message with the caption, “You’ll never walk alone”, Liverpool’s famous club song.

The bow was introduced in the United States in 2016 by NFL player Colin Kaepernick as a protest against police brutality against minorities.

Last weekend in the Bundesliga, Weston McKennie (Schalke 04), Marcus Thuram (Borussia Mönchengladbach) and Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund) already expressed their support for the demonstrators.
