DRC: a forger of diplomas at the University of Kinshasa arrested

At the University of Kinshasa, professors and students were fond of “Mutus”, one of the best known agents of the administration at the law school.

This purveyor of fake academic documents was arrested a few days ago.

Known as Mutus, the man was arrested a few days ago.

He has worked for many years in the administration at the Faculty of Law of the University of Kinshasa and has seen several generations of students pass.

According to a source close to the investigation, “Mutus took advantage of its position as an archive manager to issue false academic titles to anyone who solicited them.

Titles that Mutus always took care to include in the charts, after having affixed seals imitated somehow on the real models.

Thousands of dollars in exchange

“In return, its customers paid him substantial sums, a few thousand US dollars,” says the same source.

Arrested for a few days, the man would have confessed.

With his help, the investigators and the prosecutor’s office are updating the list of holders of false diplomas he has issued.

Some of the forging magistrates have already taken off.

In the face of such evidence, many are calling for the investigation to continue into the provinces and to verify all aspects of admission to the judiciary.
