EU deplores deportation of ambassador to DRC

Three days before the vote, Kinshasa asked Thursday evening the departure of the representative of the European Union within 48 hours.

This is a retaliatory measure of the DRC after the extension of the European sanctions that target 14 Congolese officials, including the presidential candidate, Mr. Ramazani Shadary.

The European Union deplores the decision of the DRC authorities to expel its ambassador and considers this measure “totally unjustified” and “counterproductive” at 3 days of the general elections.

The expulsion of the head of mission of the EU, the Belgian Bart Ouvry, “sanctions on the one hand the reprehensible behaviour of the interested party and on the other hand is part of the reciprocity” , explained Kinshasa.
