Kofi Annan: “A force that guided towards good”

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres paid tribute on Saturday to one of his predecessors, Ghana’s Kofi Annan, hailing “a force that was guiding the good,” following the announcement of the death of Kofi Annan, who died in Switzerland at the age of 80.

He said; “In many ways, Kofi Annan embodied the United Nations. He stepped out of the ranks to lead the organization into the new millennium with dignity and unparalleled determination,”.

Nato also extend their tribute

For their part, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg expressed his sadness over the Twitter social network: “His human warmth should never be interpreted as weakness. Annan has shown that one can be a great humanist while being a charismatic leader.”
