Morocco to build “highest tower in Africa”

Work on the construction of the “Mohammed VI tower”, which has to be 250 meters high, has started. With that size he becomes the largest tower in Morocco and Africa. The yard was entrusted to a consortium of the Belgian group Besix, the Chinese CRCCI and the Moroccan company TGCC.

Since the announcement of the project in 2016, several preparatory studies have already been carried out. This is reported by CEO of BMCE bank Othman Benjelloun, for whose bank the tower is being built. The building will be located on the right bank of the Bouregeg river in Sale, and will count no less than 55 floors.

According to the preliminary budget, construction would cost 367 million euros. A date on which the tower will be officially ready has not yet been communicated. Besix and TGCC stated that it should be completed by May 2022. Besides a luxury hotel, the building will also consist of offices, apartments and an observatory on the top four floors.
