New cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria and Rwanda

Nigeria has reported a new case of coronavirus, while Rwanda has announced two new cases. In total, there are 455 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Africa continent. So far, 11 corona patients have died with Algeria having the highest score: 5

Nigeria has reported a third confirmed case of coronavirus in Lagos, the economic capital. It is a 30-year-old woman from the United Kingdom who arrived in Lagos on March 13.

The Lagos state health minister tweeted that she went into quarantine as soon as she began to develop symptoms of the disease. She is being hospitalized at Mainland General Hospital. Nigeria had the first confirmed case of coronavirus in sub-Saharan Africa in February.

Rwanda confirmed two new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases in the country to seven.

The health minister said that one of the new cases is a Rwandan woman whose husband has already tested positive. The other patient is a German who arrived in the country on March 13 and went to the hospital on March 15 as soon as he started to develop symptoms.

Rwanda confirmed its first case of coronavirus on Saturday. The two-week closure of schools and places of worship in the country “may be renewed depending on the circumstances,” the ministry said on Monday.

He tweeted his statement, which includes advice urging people to wash their hands and avoid large gatherings. He also noted that “face masks do not provide protection against coronaviruses and should only be used by patients and those in direct contact with patients”.
