New Ebola epidemic in northwest Congo

In the northwest of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), a “new epidemic” of Ebola virus has broken out. That says the Congolese minister of Health Eteni Longondo.

At a press conference, he reported that four people have already died in Mbandaka, the capital of the Equator Province.

An Ebola epidemic also hit the Equator Province between May and July 2018.

He then claimed 33 deaths. “It is a province that has experience with the disease. They have already developed reflexes about what to do, and they have been taking action at the local level since Sunday,” said the minister.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the country, in the east, there is still another Ebola epidemic that has killed 2,280 people since August 2018.
