That did not turn out well with the French government. By means of Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian. The government has urged the US President today to refrain from interfering in France’s internal policy in fairly sharp terms. “I have said to Donald Trump and the President of the Republic (Emmanuel Macron) has also told him: we are not participating in the American debates, let our country lead its own life.”

Le Drian also said he was “worried” about democracy. And institutions in France when he heard a certain number of statements, in which the minister explicitly referred to calls for “uprising”.
