These countries ranked as the safest to travel in 2020

The end of confinement and the resumption of flights prompt vacationers to think about their destination for this summer. Qatar, Taiwan, and the United Arab Emirates are considered to be the best when it comes to security, according to a report by the Numbeo statistical service.

Qatar is considered the safest country to travel in 2020, says a report by Numbeo, a global statistical database. Thus, crime is only 11.9%, while the security rate is 88.1%. Second is Taiwan, with a security rate of 84.7%, and the third is the United Arab Emirates (84.5%).

Among the ten most secure countries are also Georgia (the safety rate of 79.5%), Oman (79.4%), Hong Kong (79.1%), Slovenia (79%), the island de Man (78.7%), Switzerland (78.4%) and Japan (78.3%).

In this ranking of 133 countries, France occupies the 81st place, between Sweden and Burma, with a security rate of 52.6% and a crime rate of 47.3%. The report says Venezuela, Papua New Guinea, and South Africa are seen as a red lantern.

Travel in the context of a pandemic

The World Tourism and Travel Council (WTTC) has also designated the destinations that offer the best health and safety conditions in the context of a pandemic, notably Portugal, Turkey, Bulgaria, and Saudi Arabia.

WTTC has thus created a new “Safe Travels” label, approved by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), a specialized agency of the United Nations.
