These ten actors filled their pockets on the set

On a set such as that of ‘Game of Thrones’ or ‘Doctor Who’ something dares to disappear, as proven by Liam Cunningham (57) and Jenna Coleman (32) respectively. The two actors both admitted that they sometimes stole something, and they are not the only ones in it.

These ten stars also have a few mementos at home, which they usually do not obtain in a legal way.

Rupert Grint

“Harry Potter” actor Rupert Grint stole two items from the set. The first was the house number of the house where Harry grew up, the ‘4’ of Privet Drive 4. Second, Grint took the golden egg from ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a bit too expensive for the production to just pass by: “I stole the egg,” he said in an interview with HungerTV. “But then Warner Brothers came looking for it.” And so Grint had to give back his second memento.

Chris Pratt

Chris Pratt stole his suit from “Guardians of the Galaxy,” but with the very best of intentions, he told Panzer TV. “I stole the jacket and a piece of the outfit, so that – when the movie comes out and it turns out to be a success – I can follow the example of people such as Russell Wilson and visit children. If the film becomes so large that it would mean something for a child who is sick at the hospital to visit Peter Quill or the Star-Lord, then I will.”

Andrew Garfield

Andrew Garfield was strictly forbidden to take his Spider-Man suit home, but that didn’t stop the actor. “You know what,” he told British Radio 1, “they don’t know, but I might have stolen one, and that might be in my luggage. It could even be in the luggage in my hotel room. Maybe it’s even in my backpack in the car. It is all possible,” he said cryptically. But Andrew is sure that nobody will miss the suit: “There are a lot of outfits, around 23 to 25. There are so many because we need it for every degree of wear. But yes, they are very comfortable.”

Robert Pattinson

While working on the ‘Twilight’ films, Robert Pattinson was surprised at the quality of the underpants of his character, Edward, was allowed to wear. And so he decided to keep some for himself. “I brought a lot of underwear if I’m honest. I did that with all the movies. They just have the best underwear and I have no idea where they got it. I really use it every day.”

Sandra Oh

Sandra Oh played doctor Christina Yang for years in ‘Grey’s Anatomy’. To ensure that she would be reminded of her time in the series forever, she stole a specific item. “The best thing I’ve ever taken from a set is the carpet that was in Owen and Christina’s apartment before they broke up.” And the actress also makes good use of it: “It’s in my living room now.”

Hugh Bonneville

Hugh Bonneville, the actor from ‘Downton Abbey’, chose a very special item to sneak into the set. “I took a letter from a character named Henry Talbot, inviting the Crawleys to come and see a race or something.” “Every letter is beautifully handwritten or typed when it fits, but it is also always relevant to the scene that you play. The details in it are beautiful, because they really take you to that moment, to the era that you are trying to bring to life.”

Ian McKellen

Ian McKellen is perhaps one of the most famous faces of the “The Lord of The Rings” and “The Hobbit” trilogies, in which he appeared as wizard Gandalf. He is also regularly active on the social news site Reddit, where he confessed that he had some items disappear from the set. “My favorite set was the ‘Golden Lair’, where the dragon hid, although I was not allowed to act in it myself. Hundreds of thousands of gold coins, specially made. If you don’t tell any further, I can say that I have some of those coins. Just like the key to Balingshoek (the home of Bilbo and later Frodo, ed.). I know that Peter Jackson (the director, ed.) Is looking for it, but he will never find it.”

Mark Wahlberg

In ‘Boogie Nights’ there is constant talk about the big penis of the character of Mark Wahlberg. At the end of the film, you get to see him effectively. A large 33 cm prosthesis was used to create the appropriate effect. And Wahlberg took it home unseen after the recordings. “I hid it in the drawer of my desk,” he said. “And then I took it out and hit my friends in the face. I don’t keep track of many things about my films, but that item just seemed to have a lot of personal meaning.”

Matt LeBlanc

Matt LeBlanc also couldn’t resist the urge to steal some items from the ‘Friends’ set. For example, he took the ball from the football table with him from Joey and Chandler’s apartment. He keeps that in his toolbox. LeBlanc also stole the sign that hung on the door of their apartment, where new drawings and words appeared regularly. That was designed by electrician Paul Swain. However, he did not keep it to himself. “I stole that sign and gave it to him (Paul, ed.), So that’s nice,” LeBlanc said. “I could have sold it for a lot more.”

Who the thief was on the set of ‘Pain and Gain’ was not entirely clear, but according to director Michael Bay it must have been one of the main characters – Dwayne Johnson, Mark Wahlberg, Tony Shalhoub or Antony Mackie – and someone with a preference for sex toys. “We bought $75,000 worth of sex toys to fill the department store. I should have filmed the crew when they came on the set that day because they were really going to inspect everything – anatomically correct vagina’s and a bottom … Everyone wanted to touch the bottom because it felt so real. It was hilarious! We wanted to bring back the sex toys so that we would get three-quarters of our money back, but they started to disappear. So it really became a mystery: “Who stole the sex toys?!”
