The Gambia hopes to achieve a beautiful tourist season after several gloomy years.
The sector is vital to the economy, since it is one of the most profitable activities with agriculture.
So far, around 150,000 tourists, mainly from Northern Europe, visit the country each year.
The Ministry of Tourism hopes to triple this number in the coming years.
And with this in mind, the government intends to erase the image of sex tourism that sticks to the skin of the Gambia. Because if the country also hosts families or curious local culture, it is known to be a cheap destination that attracts European women who came to find love with Gambians younger than them.
An image difficult to forget.
