War veteran finishes a marathon on hands and knees

A war veteran decided to run the Boston marathon as a tribute to his friends he lost during the war. A few kilometers before the finish, his legs tightened, but the soldier persisted and crawled on his hands and knees over the finish line.

Micah Herndon from Ohio fought in the war in Afghanistan, he lost three good friends in the fight. As a tribute to them, Micah ran the Boston marathon.

After 35 km his legs tightened, but he did not give up. Like a mantra, he kept repeating the three names of his deceased comrades to encourage himself.

The runner could crawl the marathon on hands and knees under supervision. He did that in three hours and 38 minutes. At the finish, he was met by emergency workers with a wheelchair.
