Young waiter joins lonely veteran (91) and endears Facebook

A 91-year-old war veteran, known as Frank, came to eat alone at the Eat’n Park in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania. Dylan Tetil, the young waiter who served him, sat down with the lonely man and let him communicate. Another customer took photos of the beautiful scenery and posted it on Facebook. The post has already received more than 192,000 likes.

Lisa Meilander from Elizabeth Township was also dining in the restaurant with her family. She saw how Dylan Tetil kept the lonely veteran company and was tender. She took photos and published them on Facebook with the catchy story.

“The man apologized for not hearing too well,” Meilander wrote. “He had forgotten to put in his hearing aids. He talked about how he lost his hearing during his time in the war. He was 91 years old with many stories to tell. Dylan patiently listened giving him his full attention. Eventually, the man apologized for talking so much. “I’m alone now,” he said.”

Dylan, the waiter with a golden heart, smiled at him once and said he enjoyed the conversation. He also helped Frank with his order and paid for his food. During his break, Dylan again sat down with Frank to listen to him.

He added: “It was a touching sight. With all of the negative stories about our youth today this was a breath of fresh air.”

I think the younger generation should do this back. For what the old man did to his country. He has sacrificed his hearing, his sight, everything for the safety of his country.
