Illegal immigration: Searching for better future, she give birth at sea

“Miracle” uttered its first cry aboard Aquarius, a chartered vessel to help migrants in the Mediterranean.

The announcement was made Saturday by the NGO SOS Mediterranean.

“Good news on Aquarius this afternoon with the birth of a baby boy”, named Miracle, the NGO said on his Twitter account.

The child, who weighs 2.8 kg, and the mother whose origin has not been specified, are doing well and must land on Sunday in Sicily, according to SOS Mediterranean.

This is the 36th baby born aboard one of the ships rescuing migrants trying to cross the Mediterranean from Libya in search of a “better future” in Europe.
